Cold (My Last Goodbye)

by DC the Anghellic   May 3, 2006

Like a broken record
Our movements short and repetitive
We come to see you one by one
After the funeral they try and console me
"It's not your fault"
"You're not to blame"
"No one is"

But they're wrong
Nothing could change the fact...
That you're dead
And that it's my fault
As they close the casket I ask myself why

Why hadn't I caught on sooner
Then maybe you'd be alive
Not dead and soon forgotten
Like a withered rose

The signs were all there
Your bruises
The constant excuses
You frowned at his name
He beat you
You should have left at first blow
Should have asked me for help
I hate you

But I hate me more
I let you serve him your whole life
Like a meal on a silver platter
We both let this happen
Let him steal your mind, body, and soul
He used you to nothingness
Not before I saved you heart

And I plan to steal it back
Your mind
Body
Soul
And innocence

Because tonight...
He dies
Dies like the coward he is
I will use him
Like he usesd you

Tonight
You'll rise from nothingness
Your death,
Will not be useless
You sour
Released from his hatred
Free once again

I stand over his body
Empty and unfeeling
Just like he left you
And no one can say...
That you died for nothing

Wiping the blood from my lip,
I ask how?
How could you let this happen?
You forced me to watch as he..
As he drained you of life
Until this
Until you were nothing
Lifeless

Turning off the lights
Tears well up inside
Pulling the triger I say
My last goodbye
