Angels Quietly Sung

by LeAnNe   Feb 10, 2004

Tears fall, though no one sees.
She spends her days alone.
No more faith does she have.
Gone the light that shone.

From that day, years ago,
Her happiness was taken away.
Now she cries alone at night.
Despair with her, does stay.

Attempts at blocking memories out,
Failed just like before.
No matter how hard she tries,
They find their way back once more.

Back they come to haunt her.
Even while she sleeps, her dreams,
Allow these horrible memories,
To smother her silent screams.

These images that come are from a time,
When she thought her loved ones caused no harm.
But that belief quickly vanished,
The moment her uncle grabbed her arm.

That was the day, her pain arrived,
The pain that ruined her life.
That was the day her uncle raped her,
Threatening her with a knife.

No one heard her painful cries,
No one could have known.
That he would do something so wrong,
For love is all he'd ever shown.

So now because of this twisted man,
A young girl is confused as can be.
Now she thinks the whole world is bad,
No longer can she see.

That there is some good here,
No need to leave so soon.
But she just cannot see that,
So she'll be gone by noon.

As she sits quietly in her room,
She thinks of those she does love.
Deciding still, that she must leave,
She vows to watch them from above.

Writing a note for her mom and dad,
Containing everything she last thought,
She reaches for the knife and cuts,
Through her body, great pain shot.

But soon enough blackness arrived.
And she could feel no more.
There was no blood, no memories.
Or dreams that made her sore.

She was free from pain and fear,
Even though she was so young.
But Heaven gave her a set of wings,
And Angels quietly sung.

(Not a personal experience)
