To Be with You

by Kristin   May 6, 2006

I know it's time I finally express my true feelings for you,
but overall what would that really do?
This continuing beat keeps throbbing in my heart,
and if these feelings aren't supposed to mean anything, then why would they even start?

I see you from afar, or look at you from across the street,
to be with you I'd take a bullet, or free fall a thousand feet.
I know this may seem obsessive, but it's really not,
because I love you, and without the feelings of you I would rot.

You're my star in the sky, my icing on the cake,
I'll do anything to be with you, at any given stake.
As long as it is you and I in the end, nothing more,
for you are my key to the finest locked door.

I am going to try to let these feelings continue with all of my might,
thinking about you every time you I secretly tell you goodnight.
And by the grace of God we will someday be together,
me giving you my coat on a chilly night and freezing in the cold weather.

I wish you would just accept me for one day,
perhaps that would be enough for you to know how much I cared, and how faithful I would be to stay.
This poem expresses all of my undoing feelings in my head,
and I'll think about you once again as I lay down in my bed.
