Your Mistake.

by Lisa   May 7, 2006

Today I got a phone call,
The one that broke my heart,
Life has been so cruel,
To tare a family apart.

I was told that you were drinking,
As you sat behind a wheel,
Your life it flashed before you,
When you heard your victims squeal.

i know that you were frightened,
You considered should you hide,
Your heart it told you different,
Your conscience dwelled inside.

You stood outside the station,
Tears filled in your eyes,
Ashamed by your reflection,
The drink was your demise.

A life that you have taken,
A mother from a child,
Now you wait your sentence,
As the lawsuit has been filed.

My letters I am writing,
I know cant stop your pain,
At least you'll stop your drinking,
So you cant kill again.
