She was only 17
Still had a full life ahead
But it was all taken
The day she joined the dead

It was a regular day of school
No one saw it coming
The gun was put to her head
The beat of her heart was drumming

He asked her one question
"Do you believe in God?"
She said "yes" with pride
But he found it flawed

He said one more thing
He asked her "why?"
Before she said a word
He pulled the trigger and let her die

He let her fall
On the floor, at his feet
Blood spilling from her lifeless body
Not once, did he weep

April 20, 1999
At a high school in Colorado
This terrible incident took place
Causing a tearful shadow

Though it is sad and may seem dumb
This girl was truly brave
She stood for God in the worst situation
So a place in Heaven, God gave.
