Sweet summer nights

by jesse   May 8, 2006

We laid next to each other
You kissed my ear
You whispered you loved me
And I whispered it back

You held my hand
My ear against your chest
I heard your heart beat
Drumming a song of love

You caressed my face with your finger
You kissed my cheek
You worked your way to my mouth
And our two lips met

My fingers ran through your hair
Your hand on my waist
The air heated up
The night sky was beautiful

I felt my heart
It jumped out of my chest
You caught it
And kept it forever

Our two naked bodies
Sweat a sweet mixture
Of sweat, love and passion
In the grass of that meadow

The stars lit up the sky
The moon, our spot light
We were the stars
Of our own entertainment

Out of breath
You looked at me
“You’re so beautiful”
Is all you said to me

You bent down
And planted a kiss on my lips
And laid next to me
You arms around my shoulder

I find yet again my head on your chest
Your lips caressing my forehead
Repeating over and over again
I love yous

Those sweet summer nights
Are the ones I remember the most
I miss you so much
I wish you were here

You are gone now
And all I have left
Are those few precious memories
Of us together

I visit you often
About once a week
I want to see your smile
But you took your life away from me

I go to that same stone
Every Monday night
And shed a tear on a petal
Of a rose I put there

A year has past now
Every day harder than the last
Knowing that you left
Makes it harder to look at the past

You left me too soon,
You never go to see
You never got to know about
The beautiful gift you gave to me,

Our baby boy
