Under the influence

by .:LORI:.   May 10, 2006

It's all his fault
i know it's true
don't know his name
but now my dad's life is Through

one's stupid decision
that ended a life
the one of my dad
affected us kids and his wife

the tears I've cried
that have rolled down my face
and created
this great, big, empty space

a normal guy
but the worst choice
now my dad
surely lost his voice

when the other chose
to drive drunk
my hear had
most definitely sunk

when he was hit
by that horrid car
it had thought
he was just too far

but my dad was killed
beside his innocence
because someone chose
to drive under the influence

This is an excellent poem. The flow of it was great. It also gives out a good lesson about drinking and driving and the costs of such careless actions! Great job! Two thumbs up!
