The War Inside My Head (part 2)

by Kyle Schulz   May 11, 2006

Passion has won, reason has lost,
Throwing regard to the wind,
I open my soul. hoping to God,
That something beautiful will begin,

As reason retreats from the field,
Tattered and broken are its lines,
I find something real and true,
Out my heart comes from its confines,

However the war is still not over,
Reason lives to fight again,
For passion cannot rule on its own,
My sanity, both must defend,

Now my world is glorious,
Parades are held in my head,
I have something I can believe in,
The yearning of my soul is fed,

But good things come and go,
If I am to make this last,
The armies must march to war again,
And I must learn from mistakes of the past.
