Love For Like

by elly   May 11, 2006

I think I miss all the times we've had
So clearly I can remember your voice
Our love wasn't something bad
It was by our sweet choice

But now it's all gone because of me
At the same time you drove me away
So how could I know you loved me, to believe
How could I even possibly stay?

I remember the old days when I was so happy
Until we had problems, and you began to spite
After a while you really started to hurt me
So I traded love for like

This new person treated me well
Or so it seemed
How was I to know it was hell
To be stuck in between

I loved that person a lot
But that person hurt me, and that love is lost
But in a few things they were caught
So our relationship was the cost

The cost of your stupidity
And your needs
Your need to be with everybody
But in the end you hurt me

So for a while I'm going without love
For now I want to heal
I don't want to remember what I lost
I'll wait for the truth, that's my new deal

---Wahh! More oldies. Well, like I've said before, please let me know what you think, good or bad. I do believe I was jumping around in some parts of this poem, but my feelings were really tearing me up when I wrote this. :) Thank you for taking the time to read this.--
