She Watches Over Us

by Ric Hansen   May 15, 2006

All of our lives
we think we have to
face the world
all by ourselves.
Yet, somehow we prevail
and we thank God.

But who told God our sorrows?
Who let Him know?

Mom.
She watches over us.

She has a small table
There is a Bible
and five burning candles
One for each
of my brothers and I
and our families
and Prays.

Mom.
She watches over us.

She talks with God
and He hears her words
She is closer to Him
She is ill
and He welcomes her
But she is not ready
until she knows we'll be o.k.

Mom.
She watches over us.

God has a place for her
My sister is there
Mom will be so happy to see her
It has been a long while
Mom lost one child
She told us the Lord
Needed a new angel

God and Sis.
They're watching over

Mom.
Who watches over us.
