My close friend
For our bonded ties
Will never unbend

After trials and tribulations
Unexpectedly we came this way
After much thought, and
After all you said that day

I've given up being heartbroken
For the days of our lives are little
Live in innocence and joy
Instead of being cold and bitter

It's never easy this way
For infatuation to change
Nor is it a piece of cake
For feelings to rearrange

Images of the old you
Can't help floating into mind
You're a different you now
Leaving me behind

The same old feeling of nostalgia
Flooding my thoughts again
That same lovesick emotion
That of longing and pain

No, this will be gone
I promise
This will be the last time
Then all thoughts of mine will vanish

    Great poem! I know how you feel. I can expecially relate with:

    I love this stanza. It's sad how the only people who change are the ones who we loved the way they were. Great poem though! I really loved it! Keep it up! 5/5
