The Liar Who Tells the Truth

by jessica   May 16, 2006

What he says and what he does is never trusted.
He is by far the biggest liar you've ever met.
You hear his voice and listen to the sounds of false answers.
He tells everything but the truth, according to the people who match the color of paper.
When he walks in a crowd, you know who he is.
He stands out from everyone like a lonely flower in a garden of dirt.
The only thing is, he is no liar.
He says something, it's always true.
He does something, it's always true.
But how is it that he's a liar?
We'll leave that one up to you. ;]

*Stumped?

If you haven't figured it out...

This is poem is about a black man around the 1930's. Back then, all black people were considered liars & cheaters, when they were just humans like any white person. Some were liars, but so were some white people. I got this idea from To Kill A Mockingbird. I just read it in school so it made me want to write a poem since now were doing poetry! Thanks for reading!!
