Glass

Broken glass
Can cut deep wounds
In not only the body, but the soul
Leaving life-long scars
Never to be forgotten
Reminding you everyday of the pain
The pain of the broken glass
Which lasts only moments
Isn't as bad as the memories
And feelings of hopelessness and regret
That can last forever
Broken Glass
With jagged edges
Sharp like a knife
I sit here
With the broken glass in my hand
Blood dripping from my wrist
Finally managing to catch my breath
My tension lifting
Feeding my addiction
For now
Until I the next time I need the
Broken glass
