I Love You

A single tear lay on her cheek.
She looks down at the rose in her lap.
A note was on it, it said.
I love you with all of my
Heart but it’s over, sorry.
As she reads it over and over again,
She cries harder and harder
Till she falls asleep,
She wakes several hours later.
As she opens her eyes she sees a man.
It was her friend!
She was happy to see him,
But he was not as happy, nervous even.
She asked him what was wrong?
But all he would say was “I’m fine”
She would not stop asking him until he said,
“I Love You”
These words echo in her head.
She is scared, scared of being hurt.
She goes into the bed room to get away.
Away from the pain of those,
Three little words with such a big meaning
No matter what she does it stays in her head.
“I Love You, I Love You, I Love You”
Plays over and over in her head,
Until she sleeps again never to think of love.
