GONE PART 1

by Tess Beautifully Broken   May 18, 2006

She looks in his lucid eyes,
He stares back at her,
Their hearts are beating,
He whispers in her ear,
"I'll be back in a week,"
He leaves,
She searches,
He is gone.

The day is new,
People are bustling,
Hustling,
It is the first day,
He is gone.

The second day begins,
People are accustomed to the day,
They walk a bit slower,
But still they are on their way,
She waits,
He is gone.

The third day awakens,
People wait for the 5th,
The heat beats down on her lucid heart,
People become tired,
They want to go home,
She searches,
He is gone.

The fourth day arrives,
People are shuffling their tired feet,
The 5th day is so close yet so far away,
She becomes impatient,
He is gone.

The fifth day comes,
People are hurrying for the day to end,
The sunsets,
People are out like owls in the night,
But she stays home,
He is gone.

The sixth day comes slowly,
People wake up late,
She wakes up early,
One more day,
She paces,
He is gone.

The seventh day finally comes,
People rest and give their praises,
People ready for the next day,
She stands by the door with her phone in her hand,
The day comes to an end,
She worries,
He is gone.

A full week has passed,
The first day begins again,
He said a week,
So where can he be,
Her hearts aches,
He is still gone

To be continued...
