Fear

by Willow   May 19, 2006

My child you are troubled,
but what could it be?
Is this horrible world scaring you?
Cause it is certainly scaring me.

Are you afraid the war will turn up on your steps?
Filling your heart and head with nightmares,
Along with grief and regret.

Are you scared of the terrorists dropping in unexpected?
Then leaving us broken,
With no buildings left erected.

My child, are you scared that the trees will never return?
Being knocked down, then cut,
then thrown on the fire to burn.

Are you afraid for your own health?
With so many incurable diseases about,
Some people never leave the house.

Are you scared of death?
For it lays unknown,
Waiting for the right moment.

Maybe these are all my fears,
And yours is of the dark.
The light shall stay on tonight,
So for once your fear can go out.
