It Was Only Love

by EpithetPoet   May 20, 2006

Crushing only the most fragile shells under our graceful steps
As we pranced through an open field of sand
Running through the dandelions of night and sky
The days when you were there and you were mine
The moments we'd cherish forever
Our highschool romance
It was only highschool romance
Caressing my naked skin under the warmth of the salty sea
That would later fill my eyes and mouth
Remembering your touch, your eyes pouring into mine
Such lovely fierce eyes
Feeling every curve of my body
Like you'd never been there before
Something new to explore
It was a kiss
It was only a kiss
Tasting the brightest stars, being held in your arms
Feeling the warmth of the rocks on my legs
The wisp of wind releasing a strand of hair across my cheek
The laughter that carried only through our minds and our hearts
As the rest of the world lay at a stand-still
It was Love
It was only Love
