One Goal

When put on this earth,
we were given one goal,
to perfect life on our own,
to look deep in our souls.

To surpass all challenges,
in life's long, tiring trip.
To believe in our journey,
and minimize the slips.

A common misconception,
that most humans believe,
is that we live for ourselves,
not to give, but receive.

A disaster of character,
that we are all subject to,
hopefully you are unique,
one, in a country of few.

Before we leave earth,
many disasters will strike,
it's the way we react,
that will save future lives.

And when darkness falls,
will you find the light?
Or sit in the back row,
just to keep out of sight?

Will you follow the path,
that you've always known?
Or be risky and daring,
and do things on your own?

It's the character flaws,
and the wasted breath,
that stop us from acting,
and will lead us to death.

    Is this for that one contest? Excellent work trying tog et your message across. I know how hard it is try try and get those words involved in the poem. Good luck by the way.

    ^^If you read this it either means one goal to search inside to prefect our own lives or two separate goals which shows how people can see different things with reading.

    ^^I don't know what you mean by this. Do you mean the lives we have as in different stages of our life?

    Either way again goodluck this was a really good poem.
