One Young Girl's Life

by Raychil   May 21, 2006

She hasn't eaten in 2 days
Her dad ran out of cash
They just had to move again
Into an apartment full of trash

She's desperately trying to keep moving
But she feels so drained
Even though she's still young
A semi-depression is obtained

Her dad has to work double-time
She's left at home with her brother
This isn't right, she's only eight!
She can't take responsibility as his mother

Her dad's new girlfriend does nothing
She just yells and sits around
The girl doesn't make eye contact
She just stares at the ground

Her real mom is in the hospital
Her memory is slowly returning
She watches her mom in pity
Because of everything she's re-leaning

The girl sits in her room
Listening to her stomach cry
She watches her brother happily play
Causing a tear in her eye

Thats one thing she has going
The brother who makes her smile
With his laughing innocence
It makes her life still worth-while

*This is based on a true story of a little girl I know..
