Tapping

From whence my window
A knocking did disturb me from my slumber,
Deep. Amongst my mind, my soul did weap,
As it made love to Shadows, desolate inside my head
Stirring, I did writhe,
The fragile strand of dream like state,
Dissolved, so my lids did break,
And a fearful chill my heart did quake, as I heard the scratching,
Knocking sound.

I pulled my quilt, I think I\'m safe
The thin layer, the cotton touch,
Iron, against my foes,
Death to the ghastlies, gouls and ghosts
Yet still the sound, of knocking panes
My Mind did ring, it echoes still,
That a creature, of no-ones will
Could be there outside, my window sill,
Scratching, scratching, Tapping, Tapping
My mind asunder, torn to bits
That My life is upon the verge, Death
Awaits with open claws
And all I have to hold them back
Is but cloth to stack

The tapping
Oh the tapping, when shall it cease
My mind, like the folding of my quilt
Do crease, and I alone, inside my bed
Do kick and sweat
My mind in constant, constant dread
I dare not scream, for they shall find me
Alone in here
No father strong to hold me near
As he battles fiercely, one on one
Fighting bravely, to save his son

Yet he's not here to hold me near
And it is this loneliness that I fear
Most of all, upon this world
Is the dreaded tap, tap, tap on my window
Thats it, Ive had enough
My mind to shock, I scream out for my father
My mother, anyone! To hear me, hold me near
Tell me that I should fear no fear
And with the lighting of the landing, I hear
The footfalls of my parents dear
They hold me close they tell me clear
That it will be alright, they tell me
That I should fear no fright, they tell me, look out
to see my foe
Is but a twig, tap, tap, tapping,
heavily upon my window
