Dulling Pain

by LeAnNe   Feb 16, 2004

The pain I feel, it goes away,
As dark night devours bright day.
The thoughts I have disappear,
Each time the glass draws near.
The burning liquid slides right down,
And my fears begin to slowly drown.
Happiness takes the place of despair,
Reality is no longer there.
Relaxation is all I feel,
Nothing seems to be quite real.
Oh how I wish to stay in this place,
Troubles and sorrows, never to face.
Though even as good as it may seem,
I would merely be living in a dream.
For these liquids won't rid me of my pain,
But simply dull them, they'll still remain.
