Can You?

by Poetess Lana   May 22, 2006

Can you say you love me?
Can you reach above the
treetops and shout it to the
world? Can you give me
the love I need? Or are you
just playing a game of keep-
away with my poor heart?

Can you climb to the tallest
tower of the castle to rescue me?
Or will you come to kiss me goodnight, steal my heart,
and leave me with the dragon?
Can you grant me freedom?
Can you love me for what I am?

Can you mend a broken heart, even if you broke it?
Can you break it again? Can you fix what does not need to be mended? Can you fix the mistakes you made? The cheating, the lies, the sadness? Or will you walk away from your problems and leave me with my sorrow?

I\'m stronger than that. I will not let you break my heart twice. I will not let you leave me with a monster. If I am right, and I prove my love, I will be the one rescuing you.

And you will feel what it is like to be the damsel in distress for once.

*As you can probably tell, I can't trust my heart with anybody.*

Wow... this poem says a lot!

"Can you mend a broken heart, even if you broke it?
Can you break it again? Can you fix what does not need to be mended? Can you fix the mistakes you made? The cheating, the lies, the sadness? Or will you walk away from your problems and leave me with my sorrow?"

that was my favorite stanza! 5/5!
