One Sinlge Tear

by ari   May 23, 2006

Rock star hair,
swooping cat eyes,
with long lashes
that open her black eyes to
all the drugs and sex.
Those black eyes
that set in a
porcelain face,
that swirl with the wisdom,
and perceive even the
smallest detail
or design
in the lace
around her wrist.
She understands all those
oddities, even if her brain
is hidden under the
hair-sprayed up do.
She's no ditz.
She'll cry, and that
one single tear will stain,
leaving one more little
thought that escapes.
One will come, and so will another,
and it will erase the make-up,
and leave her soul revealed.
One single tear.
