Pain

The pain never subdues,
it always seems to seep further and further through,
no matter how fast and far you run away,
it always seems to find its way,
it breaks you down and hollows you out,
until emptiness and agony is what you are all about,
it slowly tears and eats away at your heart,
until everything you once were shatters and falls apart
