The Dream

"I do" he says
As he takes my hand.
I glance down,
Catching a glimpse of his wedding band.

We finish our vows,
And he kisses me with passion,
Someone snaps a pictures,
Of our weddings fashion.

We celebrate for hours,
Then leave for our honeymoon.
We've planed this for years,
We're going to Can-coon.

We go straight to the hotel,
I change into something sexy for him.
I've spent months trying to look this good,
Spending long hours in the gym.

I close my eyes,
As we start kissing,
Soaking it all in,
There nothing missing.

When I open my eyes,
I stare at the dark ceiling.
Wondering where I am,
And what happened to the love I was feeling.

I look around,
And I'm alone in my room.
As the truth hits me
With a sudden boom.

He's not here anymore,
The love of my life is gone.
About two months ago,
He left me standing on the lawn.

I feel tears well in my eyes,
As i know it was just a dream.
I still can't believe how he left me,
We were suppose to be a team.

I cuddle with my pillow,
I know I'll just lay there the rest of the night.
Then tomorrow I'll go through my day,
As if everything is alright.

Then tomorrow night,
When I go to bed,
The dream will come again,
The same thing happens every night in my head.
