My Room.

by Not Bulletproof   May 25, 2006

That was
my room.
Those were
my memories.
Those were
my blood stains,
On the
floor.
How soulless can you
be?
To take such a precious thing
from me?
To take the only place
that I can hide;
The only place where
I could reside.
That was
my room.
I bled in
that room.
I cried for hours
in that room.
You seem to want to take
the tears,
the blood,
the memories,
all of it, you want to take.
This new shit hole
downstairs,
Does not have my life;
it's not there.
How dare you take
my room away?
When it meant so much to me,
to come home to it each day.
After all the pain,
that I have felt for years,
You take away the one thing,
that holds all my blood and tears.
This new room is a shit hole,
so maybe I'll make it more like home.
Insert blade here
so I always say.
You take away my room,
so I'll make it Hell for you to stay.

I can't understand in the sense that I don't know why how or when, but I do understand the feeling of losing something that comforts you. It may sound crazy to some people why you love your room so much, when all the things that have happened there seem to be memories that no one would want to remember, but sometimes our comforts are what's most uncomfortable.

I'm not sure the reason for writing this poem, but I'm sure it's from experience, and I read this quote that sort of relates to it. "There's nothing we can do about the things we have to live without. The only way to feel again is to let love in." From a song of course, but it's something to think about. You know the saying, sh#t happens, but we got to move on. Easier said than done, I don't doubt that, but it's possible.

I love the style you've written in, it flows well and the style matches the mood perfectly. I hope everything is well with you.

    Take Care,
    Renee
