But...

by Phoenix   May 26, 2006

Did you hear my cry
In the darkest hours of the nigh’?
When the world was all but dead,
I cried and wept instead.

Could you hear my heart
Tangled and loud as abstract art?
Bright colours and hidden strife,
‘Tis painful as a knife.

Would you hear my mind
If it were screaming words unkind?
Murdered like the crumpled page;
Restless voice, full of rage.

But…
Did you see my tear
Drop noiselessly for you, my Dear?
And did it even matter
When I served my heart upon a platter?
