Civics class

by Christy   May 28, 2006

Every day is the same routine
You come in the room and smile at me
You sit down in your big blue seat
I'm hoping that our eyes will meet
When class starts, you write down the notes
When all I'm writing are cute love quotes
The scent on your jacket makes me weak
The words that you use are so unique

After class, you pull me aside
And tell me that I've got nothing to hide
I stand there for a second, not knowing what to do
I wanted to whisper, "I'm madly in love with you".
But fear towered over me and made me shake my head
I told myself I couldn't do it...and ran away instead
There's no way you could love me
That's all I wanted to believe
But still I wonder to this very day
What it would've been like if I didn't leave you astray
