I’m in a dark ocean as I look out all I see is darkness
The ocean closes in on all fronts, and from all sides
From morning to night, I’m surrounded.
Then I wake to find that the darkness of the ocean
Is my life and there is no land or safe harbor in sight.
From day to day I flow along the currents of the darkness
In search of light, in search land, all I know is that I
Want to find peace. But the ocean has other plans,
To send me to the end of the world, and the pains
of earth and wind has scared my soul, and heart.
And then I see a gleam of light, shining though the darkness,
As I get closer the light blinds me by its sure beauty and glow,
The kindness of its spirit, the tenderness of its light, it is as
Bright as any star that I see at night. And when I get close to
The source it is more than I could ever hope, for I see such
Love in the light, but at last it shines for someone else.
And back adrift I go. And I hope that he that hunts me in my
Sleep, is finally able to capture my soul and take it down in
The well of despair and end my voyage.
