We of the Army

by Shelby G.   May 29, 2006

Is there nothing we can do and is there nothing we can say
Is there any amount of hope for we who've lost our way
Can there be forgiveness in our hearts, can't there be some type love
This world is crying out for help from the Lord above
Point your finger and blame another, responsibility is out of reach
The sense of feeling left in me is behind a wall we can not breach
The light shines brighter behind mine eye
In depth, belief of my spoiled lie
Set up, stand back, and watch the avalanche
The course before me is of which I do not stand a chance
Yet here I am, palms forced against the temples, eyes darting back and forth
The answers that I seek within - Nothing is it worth
If one is to abandoned, acceptance needs to be
One day we will understand, yes, one day I will see
There's nothing we can do or say, there's nothing in this land
That can quicken the pace of Gods ever working right hand
Let be what happens, question not the biddings
No matter what we lose or gain, there is no use in quitting
Hold our chins up high, We who have the hearts of stone
The army is ever growing - dying - It is we who stand alone
No God can fix our sins, no man can fill our loss
No group can control our thoughts - we are the only boss
There is no love and there won't be hope
Too hell with the sorrow on which we choke
There is nothing that we can do
Because nothing can be true
The words fall out of our mouth - we are an army
The soldiers that fight the everlasting pain and quarry
We cannot give up and we will not give in
We stand in the battle and never win
But the war is what is won, for nothing brings us down
The army of the hearts of stone are scattered all around
There will never be a day of peace where which we don't have a reason to cry
It is the ones who abandoned that are who we terrify

We'll always come back, yeah, we'll keep coming back
There's no turning back, always under attack
Theres will never be anything to do or say
That will permanently change our stone cold ways
We have nothing to loose and have nothing to gain
If we perish in our tracks we will rise up again
I'll never stand alone as I've always thought I did
I'll never live up to the farewells that always had I bid
There's more behind the mask and more behind my wall
Enough to hold me standing tall so never shall I fall
We of the army shall be eviscerated before we fall
