Means to Ends

by Stumbling Shaman   May 30, 2006

We are told this is the final setting sun
And the last light has been sealed
They say our nights can no longer shine
And true love has been overcome
I'm left no choice but to fall
Throughout all the pleasure and pain

So now my friend, so close to another end
Staring at the gutter, resting with the stars
We tried it for love, but stayed for the hate
I can't help but feel that it all feels the same
And when it has all been said and done
It seems we all descend to live for the game

Now with nothing left but to pray
For what always was an empty shell
We all walk through the day
Holding out with haunted eyes
I can never tell heaven from hell
But with no light, still I hear angels sigh

So within my heart, I will rest my faith
For I realise this feeling never lasts
Flowing with a moment that never grows old
I've still no idea where I've been cast
Nothing for it but to rise again
And face a heart that never grows cold

Wowee-- I really liked the last stanza, beautifuly done. But I did notice you switched your rhyme scheme abit, I dunno if that was on purpose or not..

Anywho, still a good poem. Keep it up.
