Thomas Andrews

**Another English class poem...had to write about Titanic people...my teacher liked the rhyming in this one...**

I had a dream to build a ship,
One that was grandest of them all.
But if I would have known her fate,
I wouldn't have listened to my heart's call.

She struck an iceberg,
On that cold April night.
She was sinking fast,
Despite her great might.

The passengers were panicked,
And the crew was in shock.
I knew at this moment,
I'd never see Titanic dock.

Instead of running for a boat,
Like so many others did.
I preferred to go down with her.
So near the fireplace I hid.

No one knows what happened to me,
To the boat's great designer.
But I knew I must not live,
For I couldn't build a ship any finer.

There was something about this poem I didn't like. I think you should have added more detail. I've read about the Titanic, and Thomas Andrews, so I know a few things. The Titanic didn't sink fast, it actually took about 3 hours to sink. Add more details. Anyone can watch the movie and write about it. Show us your research, show us you know more.

    Good poem though.
