Daddy's Girl

by ShadowDancer   May 31, 2006

Mum and Dad had me young
Daddy was only eighteen
But he left pretty quickly
When I came on the scene

Mum raises me up alone
She does the best she can
But I never knew what is was
To be loved by a man

Then I went to a party
What guys wanted I could give
So now if you want me
You're helping me to live

Take me and love me
Who you are I don't care
Only when I'm desired
Can this emptiness I bare

Daddy doesn't love me
But let me think you do
Even though you'll leave
As soon as you are through

Take me and use me
Play with me like a toy
Coz Daddy wouldn't want me
Unless I was a boy

I just want someone to love me
But I know no one will stay
If my Daddy doesn't love me
Why on earth would they?

I'm with Ed on this. The title doesn't really fit the concept of the poem. However, as I read it, I could see that the reality of the situation was that you wanted to be "Daddy's Girl"

The flow of the poem itself, was good and the messaged conveyed was excellent. Well done.
