A love for a child

by Kayleigh Porter   May 31, 2006

With hopeful eyes
You stare at me
Your grabbing hands
Scream purity.
Wondering mind
And curiosity
Unfailing faith
You put in me.

A loving world
Is all you seek
Incomprehensible are
the words you speak.
Super soft skin
And chubby cheeks
Looking at you
Just makes me weak.

My baby girl
A life so small,
Curled into
A little ball.
I'll watch you grow,
And catch your fall
I'll hold you close,
Because you're my all.

    Kayleigh --
This was SO good! Why don`t you have more poetry? You`re a great writer! The flow and rhyming worked out well, and the longer stanzas added a nice twist. Most people don`t do that. The theme wasn`t vague, and I totally understood the intent. I can even relate to this! It was great. Write some more poems, and let me know! I`ll read them =D
