A letter to Ana

by Leanne   May 31, 2006

Society reaks of self indulgence
Weighed down by chocolate and chubby ankles
Catwalk insects parade thinspiration
~Snap~ Your heart lurches. ~Fat~ Your stomach too

My heart screams for something purer
Waking up light. Empty. Closer.
Just ~one~ more pound until I win
Just one more day until I'm thin

Quod me nutrit, me destruit
~Never walk the scarecrows path~
Councillors psychobabble
Scarring your arm. ~Textbook art~

Ana, my dearest friend
I cry your sweet darkness
~What you eat in private,
You will wear in public~

(For some very special friends of mine...)
