Then There Was You

by Lost Without Her   May 31, 2006

Hollywood and Heartbreak,
Didn't happen in 'Sleepless in Seattle',
The movies always have a happy ending.
They never show that love battle.

They never show the screaming,
When you cannot find your socks,
Or the tears that stain a face,
When love deals you the knocks.

The love I knew was pain,
Someone yelling, crying, grieving,
Endless hours of silence,
Before one person ends up leaving.

I wondered why we chase it,
That happy ever after,
When the tears and pain outweigh,
The joyousness and laughter.

Then there was you.
Chasing, laughing, flirting.
You told me you want me, need me,
But you're scared that you'll be hurting.

I really want to love you,
Forever and a day,
Want to bear the load you carry,
If you let me find a way.

I want to show you how to laugh,
Remind you how to smile,
Take away that bit of hurt,
That's haunted you a while.

I'll be chauffer to your kids,
Be nice to your mum,
Dance around the living room,
If you're feeling kinda glum.

You say you want me, need me, love me,
Then there's endless hours of time,
I want you, need you, love you,
So I'm making up this rhyme.

Your eyes contain the answers,
And an eternity of hope,
They also show the struggle,
When all alone you cope.

Right now, I'm here and all alone,
I think I pissed you off,
I'm hoping when you read this,
You'll look at me and scoff.

I don't know where we're going,
But I know that I'm not lying,
When on everything I am,
I swear I'll keep on trying.

Til The End Of The World.
