Stretch

by Rich   Jun 3, 2006

My roots dig deep and clench the Earth
From a simple seed I was given birth
My arms stretch high into the sky
But winter is coming and slowly I die
My body aches, I stop to rest
The cold and chill inside my chest
Slumber in peace and waiting for spring
When life is new and I prepare a new ring
I dance with the wind and reach for the sun
Swaying in harmony wanting to run
