Summer drives

by Bonnie Rose   Jun 3, 2006

If i dressed you in her clothes,
tied your hair in ribbons,
pretty as hell and doubled in case
this sea breeze unraveled them
yawn those sleepless night away
dig your toes into their attention
I\'ll drive you to our imagination
you can even cross your legs on the dashboard
this car will be dumped after the drop off
neck tilted back, just taking snapshots of this place
to stick them on our bedroom walls
so after every argument
and every time this town seems to be taking us no where
we can look at them, and know
its all just parked in the driveway
click of your fingers, I\'m snapped back into the car seat
tune the radio to a soundtrack of our lives
or slot in the tape you made me last night
now I\'m hoping this road will lead us no where
together as one, forever.
