Sleeping Angel

by craig   Feb 20, 2004

(For you up there)

Images,
through shattered glass,
glide before my
half sleep eyes,
in an intricate dance
of pain and desire.

Voices,
heard from yesteryear,
lost in time
become alive,
half remembered conversations,
reliving long discarded
guilt

Remembering,
our long dead life,
those scrap book summers,
erased by time
after years of hurt
and denial

Noticing,
my vacant life,
a half life,
trying to recall how
my name sounded
on your lips

Wondering,
if i ever became
the person you wanted
me to be,
eventually

Roses,
lying on your grave,
too young to die.
