Longing for Disappointment, but Greeted by The Arms of Compassion

everything else has failed me
so why not you
why do you insist on seeing me through
in the midst of my disarray
why do others leave, but you stay

Lord, what have i ever done for you
to have you love me in the way that you do
i have betrayed you more times than any man could
i have hated you at times more than anyone should

even so, i need you now in this emptiness I found

my heart is broken, but bleeds hope and love
for you and all i stand in honest desperation of
you and your touch is all i dare to request
because dear Jesus, this moment is not like the rest
this time is different than the other pictures I've painted
this time the pain is real and the tears are untainted

I am crying out, here I am, take me away.
