Rockstar Husbands and a Forgotten Existence

You're the apple of my eye
Stick the needle in when I cry
Lick the luscious lips of treason
Love and hate collide to form reason
Suits you buy to try and impress
Don't worry, I never judge on dress
The tulip drips with thin wet oil
The water steams as it starts to boil
Lots of letters strung together to form words
Written down in notes to tie to your birds
Wireless pain that streams through the cable
Your mental diagnosis has always been unstable
They announce the drafts one by one
And the riots are sustained when they are done
Aspirations in a world destined to die
Dirty laundry hung on the line to dry
Yearbooks signed by people you hate
He cast the hook, and you were the bait
Do you feel used or do you feel cheap
The water that was shallow has now become deep
Strings that you need to replace
Retire your mic and hang up your bass
Doors that open to nowhere
The architects that will never care
A fire extinguisher to put out a flood
The red running through the layers of mud
Cut open beyond your consent or control
The reeper at the booth is charging his soul
Battery power that won't last
The light bulb is dieing fast
Throwing your work into the fire
Why didn't I see that you were always a liar
Sculptures of me that you did long ago
Romantic pictures of an arrow and bow
You never were the one to depict real life
You wanted to look the part of husband and wife
But you knew I wasn't someone who could fit a mold
I should have meant more then a ring of gold
The fame has gotten to your head
The band is now a story to be read
And I'm pushed to the side, waiting for you
The fantasy that can never come true
But I don't think I can take this anymore
The love affairs and the drug use on tour
I lay in the bed and blankets of decay
You weren't enough to make me stay
