Fadnig dark

It's getting dark
to dark to see
this defeating feeling
is eating me
so alone inside
i close my eyes
trying not to hide

standing up once more
i will not be thrown
upon the cold hard floor
my soul is my own
not yours to keep
not yours to destroy
light begins to seep

steadily the darkness fades
there is hope there is light
i see my own strength
the darkness wasn't right
leave your failed past
it lingers on
with power so vast

all dark shall soon be gone
unless you keep it close
forgetting are we
it's deadly as a poisoned rose
