That Day

by Nick P   Jun 8, 2006

The day I lost you, I can never forget.
When I said those things, I will always regret.
The look of hurt on your innocent face,
The loss of my soul, I can never replace.

That soft tear cascading down your cheek,
The rain falling, the weather bleak.
The day I shouted, all I did was blame.
That day forever, that day of shame.

You stood there silent, unable to speak,
My ranting and raving, a sign of the weak.
For you were innocent, a rumor had spread.
That day, when I stopped our relationship dead.

I didnâ??t even give you a chance to retort,
I cut you down quickly, I cut you down short.
Stormed out of the room, defied our own fate.
Feelings shut off, all except hate.

I know what I lost, I can never get back.
Iâ??m lost and confused, itâ??s love that I lack.
To treat you that way, was stupid and maddness.
Now left alone, empty, nothing but sadness.

That Day.
