Your Poison Words

by SARAH   Jun 8, 2006

Your words are sharp.
Painful and deadly
They rush through the veins
Like poison in the bloodstream
Leading directly to the heart.
It feels like the end is near
But suddenly you reach out
And grab me
Just as the darkness of my fate approaches.
I am slipping away
But gingerly you inject the antidote.
"I love you", you whisper
"I'm sorry".
But it's too late.
A wound to the heart by poison words
Cannot be healed.
As the light fades,
My scars reveal themselves to the world
And you realize the extent
Of what you have done.
