Imprints & Memories

When I look into your eyes,
I see all I could ever want.
Much more than I\'ve ever dreamed of.
Standing in the darkness, I\'d give you the whole lot.

I know you said not to get too close,
But looking into your eyes I couldn\'t resist.
Now I know I\'ve a far way to fall.
From the height you\'ve lifted me, down into nothingness.

When I walk by your side,
My heart beats twice as fast.
Now I\'m watching you walk away,
I wish you\'d turn around and tell me there\'s an us.

Touching your soft skin,
I feel like I am something more.
Now I\'m loosing the grip on your hand,
I know I\'m nothing to you, I\'m reassured.

Your pale blue eyes,
Look into my soul.
You\'re seeing so much more than anyone.
These feelings are so untold.

I could never be enough,
For you to light up the darkness,
And notice me standing by,
Watching you turn away from us.

As you leave footprints in my heart,
I wish you could understand.
You\'re leaving me so empty.
Without you Iâ??m falling under the demands.

Now when I close my eyes,
It\'s you that I see.
Like a movie played in my mind,
I know you can set me free.

As I lay and look to the sky,
I still feel your handprint on my chest
I still feel the connection to my heart
You\'re racing through my head as I can\'t rest.

As you walk away from me,
Will I become more than a distorted memory?
Will I be more an empty shell?
Waiting to be set free.
