The Representation of Life

by Kyleene   Jun 8, 2006

A rose
The representation of life
One moment time is beautiful and fragrant
And the next day, thoughts and feelings are wilting
The petals are soft and brilliant as love itself
But they eventually die and crumble
Enchanting as roses are,
There are still thorns underneath that dazzling front
Painful daggers that suddenly appear
Someone may love you one instant
And the next they are treacherously brazen and ruthless
A rose
The representation of life, my life
Harsh, dark, and menacing
Then gorgeous, divine, and enticing
But a rose, nor life, ever stays in one condition
Color and beauty never seems to stay
Life withers with the rose
And happiness fades away
All that is left is a dried rose
No feelings, nor thoughts
An empty heart
An empty shell
Colorless
No more sparkle or grace
A rose
The representation of life
