The One I'm Waiting For

by xx5OUL   Jun 9, 2006

That me that once was, is not me anymore;
for I am a changed person, and changed against my will,
because that mark you made in my heart,
bleeds openly for you, everday, still.

My thoughts have wandered from the good to the bad
for you've scarred me deep -- you've driven me mad.
You gave me your heart; in turn i gave you mine,
I gave you my all, and you still crossed that line.

I fell too hard, too fast to see,
what all your troubles and pain have done to me.
Now you turn away, leaving me cold,
so I muster up my courage; I've learnt to be bold.

Happy, bubbly, giggling I am no more,
my heart remains frozen; you're the one I'm waiting for.
I know my hopes and waiting will be executed in vain,
for I know you're not coming back; and I'm the only one to blame.

If only I'd have known how easily it was to fall,
I would have stopped myself from jumping...
and my heart would not be broken,
not a scratch on it at all.
