The Great Charade

by xx5OUL   Jul 3, 2006

And as I look back upon the days, Ive only two words left to say,
it was a great charade that we both had played.
Not one, but two who knew the game,
insisted that their feelings had stayed the same.
Instead twas a front each one displayed,
and the -love- they once had, was one that did fade.
The memories saved in their minds tainted,
and the smiles they shared seemed useless and painted.
Their kisses and embraces lacked the spark that was needed,
and their due date for love was long past exceeded.
Too late they were to claim their time,
and the parts they played were played as mimes.
The late night discussions and carnal professions,
laid sweet and false important impressions.
Twas all they felt till that deciding day arrived,
and proved their love could not have survived.
Alas, here the two greatest bullshitters stood,
giving up and letting go, as great bullshitters would.

Please excuse my language.
I apologize if I offend anybody on this site.
