This is About a Girl

by I am Michelle   Jun 10, 2006

This is about a girl
Who struggles with everyday problems
Whose self-esteem is always lowered

This is about a girl
She puts up strong forces
To have them blown down

She hides her feelings
To keep her parents happy
This is about a girl

She plays the second mother
To her younger sister
She has a father be he's always gone

This is about a girl
Her mother doesn't understand
She needs her there to talk to but she walks away instead

This is about a girl
Her brother is a jerk
And the other one she hates with such a passion

Her parents don't see
The pain this girl hides
They just look right through her

This is about a girl
Who cries hard inside
But is solid as a rock on the outside

All she wanted was to be heard
And to be understood
This is about a girl

She is standing right in front of me
She hides the pain well
So I look into her eyes

She tells me
She wants to tell her parents though
About how she truly feels

But she is too afraid to hurt them
So she tells me she's giving up
On everything

She says she screwed it up
I shake my head
I know how she feels

For I am looking in a mirror
And her problems,
They are mine to handle
