Hide in yourself

by Nicole   Jun 12, 2006

I watched you, in a non-stalker way.
You are gentle, you are kind.
Generous in all ways, never thinking of yourself.
You're like no one I've ever seen before.

You confide in me, tell me not all is as it seems.
We've all got our secrets, you say.
How can you hide something so dark?
It's all about faking it, you explain.

No one can hide all the time.
The person you are pretending to be is really you.
You are just pretending to yourself that it's not true.
There's no point in denying it to yourself.

Why deny yourself inner happiness when all is well?
I can see that you want to be sad.
You want to be treated with the affection you give others.
Give yourself the affection, then maybe others will too.

Give into yourself, give into me.
It's the better way to be, it's healthier way to be.
No need to hide behind fake secrets and lies.
Make those smiles real, make those giggles genuine.

Woke up this morning, turns out I was wrong.
You took your life, happiness wasn't for you.
Your note said this is healthier for you.
How can that be? Come back and be affectionate to me.

Please.
